Social Media Name
These days, social profiles are important references for
employment purposes. LinkedIn®
has made it possible for people to create professional
profiles to engage colleagues, attract clients and entice
potential employers. It is the same thing with Facebook. The
bottom line here is if you are going to put a social media
link on your resume, make sure that it has your full name on
it. So, pick a name and then use it in all your profiles,
both online and offline. Recruiters and HR people are now
using social media in checking out candidates. Whether you
think it is relevant or not, an online persona matters. So
to be on the safe side, check and double check your social
media pages to make sure that they look personal, but not
embarrassing.
Title
Putting a title under the name is a common resume writing
practice these days. Your title does not need to be your
present or last job title. If you are working as a Software
Developer, you may use that. But, if you have that title on
your last job and you are seeking new opportunities, it
would be better to get a little more creative. Make your
title short as you would not want it to be the main focus of
your resume. A straight-forward title is an ideal way of
conveying your professional background in a short and crisp
narrative format.
